The legendary animation studio is celebrating its 80th anniversary in 2025!

Do you have an idea for a text related to the studio’s rich history, iconic figures, classic films, or its influence on contemporary animation? Themed open call in collaboration with the National Film Archive. Send us your proposed topic and publish on f-a-t.cz! The call is open to both students and professionals  — whether you’re a film theorist or a theory-minded practitioner, you’re welcome to apply.  

Please send us your proposed topic in the form of a short abstract (max. 800 characters)  along with a brief bio (max. 400 characters) any time before the end of October 2025 at info@f-a-t.cz.  We will be selecting submissions based on abstracts on a rolling basis, and the texts will be published continuously throughout 2025.  If your proposal is accepted,  the National Film Archive may provide access  to digitized materials for research purposes.  Authors will be paid a fee of 60 EUR (for 2 NS)  to 100 eur (for 4 NS) per contribution.
